Blog posts for your business

Each month we write helpful articles about your trade and put them on your website, after you approve them.

In one minute

Blog Content is a monthly service for local trades businesses such as plumbers, electricians, roofers and landscapers. We write helpful articles that answer questions your customers really ask, and we put them on your website. You approve the topics and you approve every article. AI writes a first draft, and a person at Liftofly edits and checks every piece before it goes live.

What is Blog Content?

A blog is the part of your website where you post articles. Think of it as the questions customers ask you on the phone, answered once, in writing, where anyone can read them. A homeowner might wonder why a water heater makes noise, when a roof needs replacing, or how often a lawn should be fed. A good article answers that in plain words.

Blog Content means we handle the writing and the posting. Each month we suggest topics based on your trade and your area. You choose which ones to go ahead with. We write a draft, check the facts with you, make it read clearly, and put it on your website once you say yes.

We use AI openly. It helps us write a first draft quickly. After that, a person at Liftofly edits the piece and checks it. Nothing is published until you have seen it and approved it.

What you get

  • New articles about your trade, written and put on your website each month
  • Topic ideas based on questions customers ask, with you choosing which ones go ahead
  • Plain, friendly writing that sounds like a knowledgeable local, not an advertisement
  • A fact check with you, so what we say about your trade and your work is correct
  • A person at Liftofly who edits and checks every article, after the AI first draft
  • Each article set up on your site with a clear title, headings and a short description for search
  • Your phone number and area included so a reader knows how to reach you
  • Full ownership of every article, so you can keep it, change it or move it

Is this for you?

A good fit if

  • You have a website, or one is being built, and it has little or no fresh writing
  • Customers often ask you the same questions, and you would like the answers in writing
  • You are happy to spend a few minutes each month approving topics and articles
  • You want steady, useful content rather than a pile of pages

Probably not for you if

  • You do not have a website and do not plan to get one
  • You want articles posted with no review from you at all
  • You are looking for a fast jump in search results, which no one can promise
  • You want hundreds of short pages, which can do more harm than good

How it works

  1. Get started with your rep

You talk with our team, or your Liftofly rep gives you a one-time code. Your rep builds a plan with you, and you get the details in writing before you agree to anything.

  2. We suggest topics

We look at your trade, your towns and the questions customers tend to ask. We send you a short list of topics. You pick the ones you like and cross off the rest.

  3. We write and check

AI writes a first draft. A person at Liftofly edits it and checks it, then asks you about anything that needs your knowledge, such as how you handle a job.

  4. You approve it before anything goes live

You read the finished article. You can ask for changes or say no. Only after you say yes do we put it on your website.

What you will have to do

You spend a short time each month choosing topics, answering a few questions so the facts are right, and reading each article before it goes live. If you are busy, tell us and we will work around you. Nothing is posted until you say yes.

What it looks like

Sample, made-up business

Why is my water heater making a popping noise?

This is a short excerpt from a made-up article for Ridgeline Plumbing, a made-up business. It shows the style we aim for. It is not a real customer article.

A popping or rumbling sound from a water heater is common, and it is usually no cause for panic. It often means minerals from the water have settled at the bottom of the tank. When the heater runs, water trapped under that layer heats up and bubbles through it, and that makes the noise.

Here is what to do. First, check your owner manual for the maker's advice on flushing the tank, which means draining out the settled minerals. Many tanks are meant to be flushed on a regular schedule. Second, if the noise is new, getting louder, or comes with leaking or water that is not hot enough, call a licensed plumber and have it looked at. At Ridgeline Plumbing we are happy to take a look.

Why it matters, in plain words

Most customers have a question before they pick up the phone. They look it up first. If your website has a clear answer written by someone in your trade, they learn something and they see that you know what you are doing.

A website that never changes can also look forgotten. Our article on what a small business website needs makes a related point: an old blog with a last post from years ago can make a business look closed. That is why we write on a steady schedule, and only as much as is useful. A few helpful articles beat many empty ones, and Google has warned that mass-produced pages with nothing useful in them can break its spam rules.

How this helps AI search

AI tools answer questions by drawing on what is written online. Clear, accurate articles on your own website, written by someone who knows your trade, give those tools correct information about your business to work with. Nobody can promise that an AI tool or a search engine will name you.

Honest expectations

  • Articles take time to have any effect. Google says changes to a website usually take weeks to months to show in search. Do not judge the service after one article, or one month.
  • We cannot promise rankings, more visitors, more calls or more customers. No one honestly can. What we can promise is that the articles will be accurate, plainly written and checked by a person before you see them.
  • Some topics need your knowledge. If a draft says something about your trade that you know is wrong, you tell us and we fix it.

Questions people ask

Who owns the articles?

You do. Every article we write for you belongs to you, and you can keep it, change it or move it to another site.

Do I have to approve every article?

Yes. You approve the topics, and you approve each finished article. Nothing goes on your website until you say yes.

How do I get started?

Talk to our team, or, if your Liftofly rep has given you a code, use the Have a code button. Your rep builds a plan with you and you see the details in writing before you agree.

Can I stop?

Yes. Your plan and agreement explain exactly how, and your rep will go over it with you before you sign. The articles already written for you stay yours.

Do I need a website already?

Articles need somewhere to live, so yes, you need a website. If you do not have one, ask our team about building one.

Can you promise this will get me more customers?

No. Nobody can honestly promise that. Good articles help customers understand you, and they are one part of how people find a local business.
