Your business, correct on Google and Maps

We set up your Google Business Profile and keep it accurate, so customers who find you see the right hours, phone number and photos.

In one minute

A Google Business Profile is the free listing that shows your business on Google Search and Google Maps. This service sets one up, or cleans up the one you already have, and then looks after it each month. We write the drafts, you approve everything we post, and the listing always belongs to you. Nobody can promise where your listing will show up, and we do not.

What is Google Business Profile?

A Google Business Profile is the free listing that shows your business on Google Search and Google Maps. It can show your name, phone number, hours, photos, reviews and a link to your website. For many local businesses, it is the first thing a new customer sees, often before they ever visit your website.

To control a listing, you first claim it. Then you verify it, which means Google checks that you really run the business. Google decides how that check works and whether you pass it. We cannot do it for you and we cannot speed it up. What we can do is guide you through each step and tell you what to expect. Photos only show publicly once a profile is verified.

Once the profile is yours, we fill it in carefully. We use your real business name as it appears on your sign, with no extras added. We set your address, or the area you serve if you travel to customers. We choose the fewest categories that describe what you are. We enter your hours, your services and a short, honest description, and we add real photos of your work. After that, each month we draft short posts for your profile, look at any questions customers have left, and check that your facts still match your website and other listings.

We use AI openly. It helps us write first drafts, such as your description and your posts. A person at Liftofly checks each one, and nothing goes on your profile until you have approved it.

What you get

  • Your profile set up from scratch, or a careful clean-up of the one you already have
  • Step-by-step guidance through claiming and verifying, with Google making the final decision
  • Your real business name, address or service area, and categories set the way Google asks
  • Your hours entered correctly, with holiday hours updated when you tell us about them
  • A short, honest description and your services filled in, in plain words
  • Real photos of your work added, with your permission
  • Short posts for your profile, drafted for you to approve
  • A monthly check that your facts match your website and other listings, plus a look at any customer questions, with answers drafted for you

Is this for you?

A good fit if

  • You serve customers in a town or area, and people look you up on Google or Maps
  • You have never claimed your listing, or you are not sure whether you have
  • Your hours, phone number or name are wrong on Google, or have changed since you set it up
  • You would like someone to keep it current so you do not have to remember

Probably not for you if

  • You want a promise of a top spot in the Maps results, which nobody can honestly give
  • You want us to add keywords or slogans to your business name, which Google does not allow
  • You do not want to be involved in verification, which only the owner can complete

How it works

  1. Get started with your rep

You talk with our team, or your Liftofly rep gives you a one-time code. Your rep builds a plan with you, and you see the details in writing before you agree to anything.

  2. We review your profile

We look at what is on Google now, or find out that there is nothing yet. We write down what is missing or wrong, in plain words. You invite us to your profile as a helper, so you never need to share a password.

  3. We draft the details and guide verification

AI helps with first drafts of your description and posts, and a person at Liftofly checks them. If the profile is not yet verified, we guide you through that step.

  4. You approve it before anything goes live

You read what we plan to put on your profile and say yes or ask for changes. Only then do we add it. After that, we check in each month and draft new posts for you to approve.

What you will have to do

You tell us the correct business name, address or service area, hours and services. You complete the verification step, because Google needs the owner for that. You send us photos of your work, or say yes to ones we suggest. You read and approve each post. You add us to your profile using the invite option Google provides, so you never hand over a password.

What it looks like

Sample, made-up business

Profile review for Birchwood Electric, a made-up business

This is a made-up example of a profile review, written as a checklist to show how we report. It is not a real customer report.

Claimed and verified: Claimed, but not yet verified. Next step: guide the owner through verification.

Business name: Shown as "Birchwood Electric - 24 Hour Emergency Service." Fix: use the real name, "Birchwood Electric," as it appears on the truck.

Address: A P.O. box is listed. Fix: remove it, hide the address, and set the towns served, because the crew works at customers' homes.

Categories: Many are chosen, including ones for jobs that are only a small part of the work. Fix: keep the one that says what the business is, "Electrician."

Hours: Regular hours are right, but holiday hours are missing. Fix: add them before the next holiday.

Description: Empty. Fix: a short, honest draft for the owner to approve, with no links or special offers.

Photos: Only a logo. Fix: add a cover photo and a few real photos of finished work, with the owner's permission.

Match with website: The phone number on the website is different. Fix: confirm the right number, then make both the same.

Why it matters, in plain words

Google reports that customers are 2.7 times more likely to consider a business reputable when it has a complete profile. It also says customers are 70% more likely to visit and 50% more likely to consider buying. These are Google's own figures, so treat them as a guide, not a guarantee.

Wrong details cause real trouble. A customer who drives to a closed door, or calls a number that no longer works, will not forget it. Google also says it picks local results by looking at three things: how well your profile matches what someone searched for, how far you are from them, and how well known you are. Complete, accurate details help with the first one. Google says there is no way to pay for a better local ranking.

Our Google Business Profile checklist walks through every item we cover here, in the order we do them. You can use it yourself, or let us do the work.

How this helps AI search

AI tools often draw on the same listing facts that Google uses. A complete, current profile gives them correct information about your business to work with. Nobody can promise that an AI tool will name you.

Honest expectations

  • Changes to a profile and to search results usually take weeks to months to show. Do not judge the work after one week.
  • We cannot promise rankings, more calls, more direction requests or more customers. One thing we cannot change at all is how far you are from the person searching, and Google counts that.
  • Google makes the final call on verification, and sometimes it asks for more than owners expect. We guide you, but we cannot override it.
  • A profile is not something you set up once and forget. Hours change, photos get old and customers leave questions. That is why the monthly check is part of the service.

Questions people ask

Who owns my Google Business Profile?

You do. The profile is in your business name and in your account, and the posts and photos we prepare belong to you. We are added by invite, as helpers.

Do I have to approve what you post?

Yes. You see every description, post and change before it goes on your profile. Nothing goes live until you say yes.

How do I get started?

Talk to our team, or, if your Liftofly rep has given you a code, use the Have a code button. Your rep builds a plan with you and you see the details in writing before you agree.

Can I stop?

Yes. Your plan and agreement explain exactly how, and your rep will go over it with you before you sign. The profile stays in your account, and the work already done stays yours.

Do you need my Google password?

No, and we will never ask for it. We ask you to add us as a helper using the invite option Google provides. You choose what access to give.

Can you verify my profile for me?

No. Google decides how verification works, and it needs the owner. We guide you through it and tell you what to expect.

Will this put me at the top of Maps?

No one can promise that, and we will not. A complete, accurate profile gives you a fair chance to be understood. It does not guarantee a position.

Is this the same as Local SEO?

It is related. Your Google profile is one listing. Local SEO looks at every place that lists your business, and Google is one of them.

Works well with

  • Local SEO

Checks every other listing, so your name, address and phone number match your Google profile everywhere.

  • Reviews

Helps you ask for and answer the reviews that appear on your profile, by the rules.

  • AI Visibility

Checks what AI tools say about your business, which depends partly on a complete profile.
