Local news announcements, written and sent for you
When something real happens at your business, we write it up, send it to local outlets and post it on your website, after you approve every word.
In one minute
A press release is a short, factual announcement about your business that you send to local newspapers, radio stations and community news sites. We write it, you approve every word, and we send it to local outlets and post it on your own website. Whether an outlet prints it is entirely their choice, and nothing is promised. AI writes a first draft, and a person at Liftofly checks every release before it goes out.
What is Press Releases?
A press release is a plain, short announcement of something that has happened, written the way a news story is written. It says who, what, when and where, and it gives a name and phone number for anyone who wants to know more. Local outlets, such as the town paper, a community website or a local radio station, sometimes use these to find stories.
Good reasons to send one include a new service, a new location or opening, an award, a milestone, and community work such as sponsoring a youth team or helping with a local cleanup day. It has to be real and it has to be of some interest to people in your area. A sales pitch dressed up as news will not get far, and we will tell you if we think an announcement is not newsworthy.
We handle the writing and the sending. You tell us what happened. We write a first draft, check the facts with you, and make it read clearly. After you approve it, we send it to the local outlets that suit your story, and we post it in the news section of your own website so it stays there for customers to read.
We use AI openly. It helps us write a first draft quickly. After that, a person at Liftofly edits it and checks every fact and every name. Nothing is sent or posted until you have seen it and said yes.
What you get
- A press release written about your news, in plain, factual language
- A check of every fact, name and detail with you before anything is sent
- A short quote for you, written for you to approve or change in your own words
- Your release sent to local outlets that suit the story, such as local papers, radio and community sites
- The release posted in the news section of your own website, where it stays
- A person at Liftofly who edits and checks every release after the AI first draft
- A plain note afterward on where we sent it and whether any outlet replied
- Your approval of every word, and full ownership of what we write
Is this for you?
A good fit if
- You have real news, such as a new service, an opening, an award or a community project
- You want your announcement in front of local news outlets and on your own site
- You are happy to read a draft and approve it
- You understand that an outlet may choose not to print it
Probably not for you if
- You want a promise that a newspaper, station or website will publish your release, which nobody can give
- You want press releases mainly to get links to your site, which is not what we do
- You have no real news, and want us to invent some
- You want releases sent with no review from you at all
How it works
Get started with your rep
You talk with our team, or your Liftofly rep gives you a one-time code. Your rep builds a plan with you, and you see the details in writing before you agree.
You tell us the news
You tell us what happened, in your own words. A phone call or a few lines is plenty. We ask follow-up questions about who, what, when and where, and about anything we are unsure of.
We write and check
AI writes a first draft. A person at Liftofly edits it and checks it against what you told us. We pick the local outlets that fit the story and prepare the version for your own website.
You approve it before anything goes out
You read the finished release. You can ask for changes or say no. Only after you say yes do we send it to outlets and post it on your website.
What you will have to do
You tell us about the news, answer our questions so the facts are right, and read the draft. You say yes, ask for changes, or say no. If a reporter or editor calls you, you decide what to say. We never speak for you without your agreement.
What it looks like
A short release for Harbor Lane Landscaping, a made-up business
This is a made-up example, to show the style we write in. The business, the town and the quote are all invented. It is not a real release.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. Harbor Lane Landscaping adds fall leaf cleanup service in Maple Hollow.
MAPLE HOLLOW. Harbor Lane Landscaping has added a fall leaf cleanup service for homeowners in Maple Hollow and nearby towns. The service covers raking and bagging leaves from lawns and flower beds, and clearing leaves from gutters on request.
"Many of our lawn customers asked us who could clear their yards in the fall, so we decided to offer it ourselves," said the owner of Harbor Lane Landscaping. "We would rather do a few jobs well than promise too much."
Homeowners who want to book a visit can call Harbor Lane Landscaping at the office number or visit the website. The company is based in Maple Hollow.
Contact: the owner, at the office number listed on the website.
Why it matters, in plain words
Local news is one of the ways people learn what is going on in their own town. A short, honest announcement that a business has added a service or is helping with a local project lets neighbors know you are there and active. It is also a record on your own website, in your own words, that customers can read.
A press release is not an advertisement and it is not a trick. Editors decide what is worth printing, and they can say no without telling you why. We will not promise otherwise. We also do not use press releases to build links. Links that are paid for or traded just to push up a ranking break Google's spam rules, and we do not do that. Our job is to help you tell real news to real local readers, honestly.
A release posted on your own website is one more clear, accurate source about your business, in plain words. AI tools draw on what is written online, but no one outside those companies knows how they choose sources. We make no promise that any AI tool will mention you because of a press release.
Honest expectations
- Outlets decide whether to publish. Some will print a release as it is, some will use part of it, and many will not use it at all. We cannot promise that any newspaper, radio station or news site will run your story, or when. If nobody picks it up, the release still sits on your own website, and we tell you plainly what happened.
- We cannot promise more calls, more visitors or more customers, and we cannot promise any search ranking. A release is one small way to let your community know about real news.
- We do not pay for links, trade links or send releases to sites whose only purpose is to hold links. We send your news to real local outlets, and we post it on your own site.
Questions people ask
Will a newspaper or news site definitely print my release?
No. Editors and producers decide for themselves, and nobody can promise it. We write it well, send it to outlets that suit the story, and tell you honestly what came of it.
Do press releases help my Google ranking?
Not as a trick, and we do not use them that way. Google treats paid or traded links meant to push up rankings as spam. We do not do that. A release is for telling people about real news.
Who owns the press release?
You do. Every release we write for you belongs to you, and you can keep it, change it, or use it anywhere you like.
Do I have to approve it first?
Yes. You approve every word before anything is sent or posted, including any quote that has your name on it.
How do I get started?
Talk to our team, or, if your Liftofly rep has given you a code, use the Have a code button. Your rep builds a plan with you and you see the details in writing before you agree.
Can I stop?
Yes. Your plan and agreement explain exactly how, and your rep will go over it with you before you sign. Releases already written for you stay yours.
What counts as news?
A new service, a new location, an opening, an award, a milestone, or community work such as sponsoring a team or helping at a local event. If it is not really news, we will say so and not send it.
Is AI writing my release?
AI writes the first draft, and we say so openly. A person at Liftofly then edits it and checks every fact and name, and you approve it before it goes anywhere.
Works well with
Blog Content
Articles on your website explain your trade, while releases announce news, so the two cover different needs.
Social Media Posts
Once a release is approved, a short post on your business pages lets customers who follow you see it too.
Google Business Profile
Your Google listing is where nearby customers check your hours and details after reading about you.
